Dance history: Alyssa Glanville has been dancing since she was 8 years old. She started in Lindy hop and Folk Dancing. While she loved dance, she spent a lot of her youth playing soccer and showing horses competitively. It wasn’t until she started ballroom when she was 15 that she was first exposed to West Coast Swing. She immediately fell in love with the dance, especially the creative aspect drawn from other dances. Since then, Alyssa has trained in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Zouk, andBallet. She uses her knowledge from those dances to enhance her WCS.She has been swing dancing for 15 years.
Alyssa, stands out above the rest. She is the consummate stylist with amazing footwork and technique. Her poise and grace is undeniable. In the short time she has been swing dancing she quickly moved through the ranks and now competes at a Champion level, taking many first place prize awards in Swing Jack n Jills and Strictly Swing. She competes in Classic with partner John Kirkconnel. Alyssa teaches and judges all around the United State, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. She has a charming sense of humor and is a pleasant young woman. She leaves the ego out of the equation and it’s clear she loves swing dancing.
