You knew when Jimmy was in the room. He possessed a natural charisma that drew people to his table. He loved to entertain those around him with his easy manner and amusing stories. And yet, he remained a private person cast in the public arena — and did it well. Jimmy began with Arthur Murray studios when only sixteen; launching a lifetime career. At one point he was owner-operator of three studios. Some called him the “fixer”, with the ability to see a series of under-executed moves and correct them to performance level. He believed that students were not alike and would adjust lessons to emphasize their individual abilities. He simply loved to teach. He believed that laughter and soft-spoken instruction encouraged the most hesitant student.
