Benji is an accomplished Solo dancer, and Partner dancer. Benji began acting in commercials at age 2. And dancing at the young age of 5. It is no wonder as he is the child prodigy of the King of Swing, Buddy Schwimmer, and Laurie Schwimmer. Starting in 1991 to 1999, Benji hit the floor at the US Open in the Young America and Young Adults Division, winning with his cousin Heidi Groskreutz..In 2001, Benji and Heidi’s first year in the adult Showcase division at the US Open, had the audience stomping their feet on the bleachers for in the longest running standing ovation since.
Benji’s Accolades, to mention a few: Winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” 2006. Actor/dancer in the movie “Love n Dance” Choreographer for Quentin Tarantino, Paul Abdul, Choreographed for two Winter Olympics and Ice Skater, Jeremy Abbott.
Benji is currently involved in film projects and more where his creative genius continues to shine. Benji Schwimmer, one of the top Champion WCS dancers in the world, began dancing 35 years ago at age 5, and won his first US Open competition in the Young America division in 1991 with his cousin, Heidi Groskreutz. As an adult, Benji was undefeated, winning 14 US Open Showcase Champion titles with four different partners (Heidi Groskreutz, Kellese Key, Torri Smith Zzaoui, and Nicole Clonch Ramirez). Also winning with the same partners at NASDE events. Since retiring from Showcase routine competition in 2018, he has continued to dance and win in Champion Jack n Jills and Strictly Swings as well as teach and choreograph dancers, figure skaters, and athletes and work on his film projects. Benji is the youngest swing dancer to be inducted into the Golden Star category (31+ years of swing dancing).
