Tami began Swing Dancing in 1980. Tami is a co-owner of Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association (PBDA) celebrating its 41st year in 2024. Tami teaches all forms of Ballroom, Latin and Swing. She has taught & performed internationally and has many television, newsprint and movie credits to her name. For many years she was a featured instructor/performer for Walt Disney Productions, and Disneyland (hosting Carnation Plaza’s “Jump Jive Boogie Swing Party” & “Mickey’s Mambo Club.”) In the mid 1980s, Tami was featured on Peter Jennings’s World News Tonight showcasing West Coast Swing (when that style became California’s official State Dance.) She has danced on floats in the Tournament of Roses New Year’s Parade (twice!), and, in 2011, she authored the hardcover book: “Swing Dancing” an ABC-Clio publication (a reference guide to the History of Swing), which is used as a textbook at colleges & universities across the country.
